Unmask the Mysteries Fundraiser Success!

Hallmark Construction was proud to be a Gold sponsor for the third consecutive year for the Unmask the Mysteries Masquerade Gala to support the AIDS Coalition Silicon Valley on June 21, 2008 at the Summit Banquet Center in San Jose.

The gala, the largest HIV/AIDS benefit in the South Bay, was a black-tie extravaganza with elaborate decor, fantastic food and spirits, amazing entertainment  and great music and dancing. One of the highlights of the evening was a masquerade whereby models showcased elaborately designed face masks donated by celebrities as well as masks created by sponsors. Hallmark’s mask which featured blue and red feathers mimicking a plumed headdress above a traditional Italian Commedia Dell'Arte style.

This year’s gala also included the first annual ACSV Roelandts Awards of Distinction which honors an individual or organization for sustentative contributions in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Silicon Valley and beyond. The award went to Dr. Michael Harbour, who has labored tirelessly and most effectively to help those with HIV/AIDS from Silicon Valley to Boston. The annual organization honor went to the Los Altos Rotary Club, a service organization that focuses on public education to change attitudes about the illness and support those that are afflicted with the disease. They produced a video "The Los Altos Story", that underlines the reality that anyone can be a victim of AIDS.
