A Rising Star Continues to Shine in Silicon Valley’s Construction Industry
Hallmark Construction Project Manager, Kenji Ohkawa completes multiple office renovations for Silicon Valley venture capital firms.
Santa Clara, California – December 13, 2010 – Tough economic times demand construction companies execute precisely at every level of a project. Kenji Ohkawa, a Project Manager at Hallmark Construction, one of Northern California’s leading general contractors, is quickly earning a reputation for his enthusiasm, tenacity, and most notably, his results. Recently, Ohkawa completed a slew of projects for the Silicon Valley’s leading venture capital firms. These extensive renovations included complex, opulent finishes that were completed under fast-track schedules while each client’s business carried on as usual. “Kenji has already developed the good judgment and gut-feel that are so important to ensuring a job runs smoothly,” said Ned Cain, a Senior Project Manager at Hallmark. While the ability to think on his feet is an asset, Ohkawa likes to give credit to his rigorous planning and constant communication with clients and field personnel as well.
Ohkawa is quickly becoming an authority on sustainable building. As a LEED Accredited Professional he has driven LEED certification, which indicates a building has achieved a high level of environmental performance with a minimal carbon footprint. “The [LEED] certification process is complex,” Ohkawa explains, “that’s why it’s so important to find out what the client’s needs are and establish goals early on to ensure the right work plan is in place.” Clients turn to Ohkawa for consultation on how to incorporate green practices into their project. “I enjoy advising clients on how they can make their building more efficient and environmentally friendly,” Ohkawa continued, “Whether it’s about the latest in green technologies or simply recycling construction debris.” Combining his LEED credentials with his Engineering Degree from Santa Clara University, Ohkawa has shown clients how sustainable design and construction practices can build long term value. Despite these demanding times and rigorous schedules leaving little margin for error, Ohkawa continues to deliver, exclaiming “It’s fun.”
